a life lived by grace and gratitude... a home blessed by the true and living Christ

I absolutely floored that it has been almost a year since the last post. A testimony to how busy someone can get or simply I have not quite developed this habit of posting. Perhaps I think too much (or not enough?). Whatever.

SO much has gone on this past 11 months and I don't know where to begin. I will simply do a little at a time and hopefully stay better in touch moving forward.
First, I must say that I miss my family. It seems like I haven't talked to my big sister in eons. We are so ready for the reunion this summer -to hang out and catch up with everyone.
Amy, Abigail and Olivia are doing well. Abigail is playing upstairs now with her girlfriend - her first "invite" for a play date. It was very cute to have her call Elizabeth and invite her over. She is 6 1/2 going on 11 it seems. And Olivia, of course, wants to be just like her big sis. It is so "totally awesome" to watch them grow! A week's worth of cares seems to melt once I see these girls. That includes Amy, too! She has been working very hard and has a much busier schedule than I do. "Where are you today?" is the norm around here.
Oh - I got to mention what happened a few hours ago! One of my physicians shows me that he's packing heat under his lab coat! No kidding - he carrying a 38 special for protection from a couple of girls that he had to fire the other day. Seems like one of them showed up with her boyfriend and wanted a paycheck. It was just very amusing to see this mild mannered Nigerian carrying a piece. I was almost in tears.

We passed a big milestone last night with our oldest going through Pre-K graduation! She is now officially on her way to... Kindergarten. Who ever thought up of this stuff? A bunch a parents clamoring for the perfect photo shot of their pride and joy walking across the stage at the local primary school, accepting a piece of rolled up paper that means, well, that you have a piece of paper in your hand.
Celebrating a year of fingerpainting, abc's and 123's. It was really a chance for most mom's to have a few hours to run errands and to give their little one a chance to see what's its like not to hang on a skirt all day long.
Then you should have seen the cookie and soda social afterwards. A mob of adults and bored siblings hovering over little Johnny and cute Amanda's plate of KashNKarrys' finest. It was if Oprah made a surprise visit to give out free mini vans and everyone's family taxi had 200,000 miles on the odometer.

I absolutely loved it!
